HOURS/FEES FOR ADOPTING A SHELTER DOG

Starting Saturday, October 11th, 2003, Lifeline For Pound Buddies took over the adoption program at Muskegon Vector Control.

We are open to the public to view the dogs and fill out applications on:

Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 and

Saturdays from 11:00-1:30.

You are required to fill out a application. Once your application is approved, the adoption fee is a $125.00 prepaid receipt from the vet of your choice towards the cost of altering the dog and $10.00 to us for microchipping.

Cat adoption fees are $80.00

We do not do same day adoptions.

Shelter dogs will have numbers and letters by their pictures or the letters "SR" or "CR" in front of the letters and numbers.

Please fill out the application completely. If not filled out completely it will not be concidered.

Also pound dogs are strays- this means we do NOT know their background or history. By state Law the shelter is only required to keep dogs\puppies for a limited time.

If they come in with a collar they are only kept 7 business days
.

No collar they only keep them 4 business days.

So time is of the essence!!

FEES FOR ADOPTING A PBR FOSTER DOG

PBR foster dogs/puppies/cats/kittens are fully vetted and evaluated. They live with foster families so we can give you more information about these pets than we can shelter pets.

The fee to adopt a PBR foster dog is a between $185.00 - $300.00 (additional donations always welcome.)

Adult dogs 6 months or older will be altered and current on shots and on heart worm preventative.

For puppies that are not altered, $75.00 of the adoption fee will be returned when the dog is spayed or neutered, current on all vaccines, fecal test and heartworm testing (if old enough) and heartworm prevention(these are requirements of the adoption of either pound dogs OR PBR dogs). This
MUST be done by 6 months of age or sooner.

PBR foster dogs will have a name by their picture. Please fill out the on-line application of which there is a link to on each pets page.

You must fill out a application. If approved you will be contacted within 3 business days. We do not contact you if you haven't been approved. This is due to the high volume of applications we receive. If we was to contact every one that was not approved we would have no time at all for anything else.

PBR dogs are the ones listed by name. (PBR Fred)

Please do not ask to meet the foster dogs\puppies until you have submitted a application.

We also have AAD's(Adopt A Day's)where you can come meet some of the foster dogs. We do not adopt out on AAD days UNLESS you have been pre-approved. AAD dates\times can be found on our main page by clicking
